Suns’ Elliott Named Strength, Conditioning Coach of the Year

Phoenix Suns’ head strength and conditioning coach/athletic trainer Mike Elliott was selected as the NBA Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year by the National Basketball Strength & Conditioning Association.

“We are delighted to congratulate Mike Elliott on this very prestigious award,” Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby stated in a news release. “Mike is an integral part of our world class training staff.

“His approach to the care and well-being of our players is innovative and highly effective,” he added. “This is a well-deserved honor.”

Elliot has been with the Suns’ athletic training staff for 11 seasons. He served as the club’s head strength and conditioning coach/assistant athletic trainer for five season.

Elliott is responsible for all aspects of player strength and conditioning and assists Nelson with daily recognition, care and treatment of team-related medical issues.
