The Bakersfield Jam will become the Phoenix Suns’ D-League affiliate, according to Gino Pilato with DLeagueDigest.com.
The partnership is expected to be agreed to next week, according to Paul Coro with AZCentral Sports.
The Suns will finance and run the basketball operations of the Jam, including choosing the affiliate’s coach and general manager. The Bakersfield’s ownership will handle business operations, community relations and other non-basketball functions
Suns players shared the Jam as a D-League affiliate since 2011. Last season, Phoenix assigned Archie Goodwin to Bakersfield for five games last season to help him get playing time and develop.
